Laura and Travis’ wedding was the perfect way to kick off the 2016 wedding year! With how hectic life can get around the holidays, it was wonderful to know that our very first couple of 2016 was going to be laid back and the “go with the flow” type.

From the moment we arrived at St. Lukes Methodist Church, we were greeted with so much warmth and kindness from their family members. Everyone was enjoying the day, relishing in the fact that two incredible people were about to commit themselves to each other for the rest of their lives. It is such a beautiful thing to witness when you really think about it. I feel like sometimes in the “wedding world,” it’s easy to get caught up in the lovely details, the dress, the shoes…all of the “stuff.” It’s nice to ground yourself sometimes and remember that you are about to witness a huge moment between two people in love. Not only witness it, but be trusted enough to capture those moments. We are always so grateful when a bride and groom pick us to photograph their weddings because we are getting to spend the day with them, almost feeling like part of their “tribe” of friends and family.

Everyone in Laura and Travis’ wedding, from the wedding party, to the family, to the guests, welcomed us with open arms and gave us great moments to capture. Their ceremony was so sweet with little moments of leaning into each other, knowing so badly they wanted to kiss already! The way Travis looks at Laura when she’s not aware, and the way she looks at Travis when he’s looking away…it’s truly incredible to see that kind of love. They admire each other to the core, and it’s so beyond obvious to anyone who spends even just one minute with them.

Their reception was equally as beautiful as the ceremony, with splashes of blushes, golds, and whites throughout. I can honestly say that their dance floor was packed the entire night. Everyone had the best time, and it was so clear that it’s because they are truly thrilled for Laura and Travis. The dancing, hugs, chatter..all of it was beautiful and wonderful to photograph.
